Travel to San Juan Island

The Washington State Ferry to the San Juan Islands leaves from the Anacortes Ferry Terminal. To get to Anacortes, take Interstate 5 to Exit 230 (Sedro-Wooley/Burlington Exit) and go west on Highway 20 to Anacortes. In Anacortes follow the signs for the San Juan Islands ferry.

In the summertime the ferries can be fairly busy. Plan on arriving 2 - 3 hours in advance if you are driving your car to the island. An alternative that saves time and money is to park your car and walk on the ferry. Foot passengers should allow about an hour to park, buy a ticket and board. The fair transport shuttle will meet each ferry and will be available at the fairgrounds to take fair-goers to departing ferries each day of the fair.

There are also a number of air services to San Juan Island including Island Air, Kenmore Air and San Juan Airlines.
